Poco is hosting a global launch event in Dubai on May 23 to launch the Poco F6 series which should also include a more powerful Poco F6 Pro.

The Poco F6 isn’t the first smartphone to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3....

Brace yourself for the ultimate showdown between Realme and Poco. Hours after Realme confirmed the India launch date (May 22) of the Realme GT 6T, Poco has announced that it will launch the Poco F6 in India on May 23. Both phones will be performance driven.

Poco in fact is hosting a global launch event in Dubai on May 23 to launch the Poco F6 series which should also include a more powerful Poco F6 Pro. The Poco F6 Pro is not coming yo india or at least, not at this point in time. Poco almost never launches its pro F-series models in the country, so we’ll just have to wait and see if that changes in 2024.

Anyhow, there is enough evidence on the Internet that the Poco F6 will be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 3. If Poco launches the phone in India with the same processor, it would become the country’s first ever phone with the newly minted Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. Not to mention, it should beat the pants off the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 powered Realme GT 6T. Whatever be the case, competition will be intense.

Poco F6— a rebranded Redmi Turbo 3?

The Redmi Turbo 3 sold in China has a 6.67-inch 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can peak 2,400 nits and supports HDR10+ playback. A hole-punch cutout lies at its centre housing a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

On the back, the phone has a dual camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 main sensor behind an optically stabilised lens and another 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor behind an ultra wide lens.

Powering the Redmi Turbo 3 is a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging. The phone comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage. Running the show is  HyperOS based on Android 14.
